MADE IN THE USA!

The second most surprising fact to me was to find a shoemaker that would make me handmade shoes. Believe me - DIFFICULT - doesn't even begin to describe the frustration. Much to my amazement I found out that most shoes are not made in the USA, but overseas and mass produced by machines.

I have been watching the news a lot lately, although I always watch it, but one fact keeps coming up - items not made in the USA, but by other countries - cars, toys, shoes, clothing and the list goes on and on. Just look on the bottom of something you have purchased or the label of something you are going to wear - it won't say Made in the USA. So many people have lost their jobs because companies only look at the bottom line, and that bottom line is "it's cheaper to do business in another country" which translates into big profits and large bonuses. Can you imagine all of the employed, well paid workers we would have if companies thought more of us and our country rather than the bottom line.

Anyway, my point is - my shoes and boots are made in the USA and I can say that proudly. I am also going to be donating the top 10% of my sales to help injured Veterans and families of service men and women - they deserve the best medical care when they come home and if it's not medical, then it will be financial help. After sacrificing their lives for our freedom this is the very least I can do - because after all I was made in the USA!
