If you make a purchase with your credit card using a PayPal checkout, PayPal processes your credit card purchase and then sends the payment to the merchant. The merchant has no access to your credit card information. Shoppers who request a refund often expect to see the payment returned to their credit card statement; this is not possible. Any merchant using a PayPal checkout can ONLY return money to your PayPal account name, which was the email name/address you gave used making the purchase. Even if you did not open a Paypal account, this is the only method by which a refund can be sent to you if you made a purchase through a Paypal checkout system. You must withdraw the money from PayPal and transfer it to your bank. If you do not have a PayPal account, you must open one to retrieve your money.
